Jennie and Julia escape to a country house for the summer, only to find that life in New England feels more claustrophobic than rush hour on the L train. Culled from the paintings of Balthus, the music of Henry Purcell, the films of Truffaut and the novels of DH Lawrence, For Artists Only is an intricate, stylized diorama of female friendship and the violence that lingers beneath its surface.

FOR ARTISTS ONLY premiered at The Ontological-Hysteric Incubator December 2009. It was developed in workshop at The Bushwick Starr and Brooklyn Arts eXchange.

Critic's Pick: "a stylish, engrossing expedition into the sometimes-immature behavior, romance, and rhythmic back and forth that make up feminine camaraderie." – Backstage

"Highbrow/Brilliant" – New York Magazine

"Runs the gamut from intimacy to claustrophobia, and it doesn't tarry often along the way... Jonas adroitly conjures their sulky, competitive, erotically edged friendship..." – New York Times

"Wonderfully unique…when things got bloody, I was looking for my binoculars" –
